New Classes in Glasgow!

I’m super excited to announce that, in addition to my regular classes at Hope Studio in the city centre, I will also be teaching 4 new classes at the Movement Studio, in the West End of Glasgow, from the 28th July. On Mondays I’ll be teaching Ashtanga Foundations 10-11am and lunchtime yoga from 12.30-1.15pm, and on Sundays I’ll be leading Ashtanga Foundations from 10.30-11.30am and Yin Yoga from 5-6.15pm. I’ll be posting some info about what both Ashtanga and Yin involve (in case you’re not sure!) in the next few days so keep an eye out! Most people these days struggle with tight hips. We spend so much time sitting at desks with our knees pointy directly forward – almost no rotation of the hip joint. In an ideal world we would spend most of the day moving in one way or another, and, when we did have to be in one place for an extended time, we would be on the floor – so that, with nothing to hold us up, we are forced to engage the muscles and to change positions frequently to avoid discomfort. In other words, getting back to how we used to move/be as a baby and child. Unfortunately most of us don’t have this luxury – we need to make money and therefore accept certain jobs where movement is not possible – but this is where yoga comes in! Think you don’t have have time for yoga? Think again! Yoga for busy people: a short 15 minute flow

One of the biggest obstacles to health and wellness is… Time. Not having enough of it. We all know we should be exercising at least 30 minutes 5-6 times a week, but combining this with work, commuting, cooking (since we should also be trying not to eat processed, prepackaged food) and eating, plus spending time with our loved ones each day… It can feel like there just aren’t enough hours in the day! Believe me, I know this feeling. Yet this shouldn’t be an excuse to skip practices – such as exercise and self-care – that are so fundamental to good health and wellbeing. So, what’s the solution?
