About Me

Plant-based yogi with a lust for travel and helping people thrive!

Having originally trained as an actor, Charlotte’s passion for nature, the environment, and sustainability, led her to swap the theatre for the lecture hall in order to study Environmental Governance in the Netherlands. She followed this with a PhD in Political Philosophy & Ethics at the University of Leicester, in England. It was during the PhD that yoga and meditation came back into Charlotte’s life again, as a way of coping with the stress of studying, working, and trying to keep healthy, all at once. Around the same time she began to develop an interest in nutrition and alternative forms of health and wellness – looking at the individual as a whole – including meditation, exercise, and self-development.

“Yoga was my anchor during a difficult time in my life. I want to offer people that same sacred space when they come to my class. A place to be vulnerable, to let go, to sweat, and to have fun.”

– Charlotte

Realising that her true calling lay in helping people achieve optimal health and vibrant living through yoga and other lifestyle changes, she finished the PhD and immediately undertook her first YTT in Ashtanga-Vinyasa yoga with All Yoga in Bali, in 2017. Her love of the Spanish language and her passion for travel eventually took her to Colombia, where she received her certification to teach yoga in Spanish from Flying Tree Yoga. As a naturally ‘yin’ person, and having always been intrigued by indigenous and non-Western approaches to healthcare (such as Traditional Chinese Medicine), Charlotte then trained in Yin Yoga and Chinese Meridians with Annie Au in Mexico in 2018.

Charlotte has taught yoga around the world, in Fiji, Nicaragua, the Blue Mountains (Australia), and Portugal. Having moved back to Scotland, Charlotte is now a certified Thai Yoga Massage Therapist, and trained in Rocket Yoga with the ‘Yoga with Carson’ Academy. She now teaches Rocket Yoga, Ashtanga-Vinyasa, Vinyasa, and Yin yoga, offers Thai Yoga massage in Glasgow, and is currently training to become a Health Coach with the Institute for Integrative Nutrition.

“I booked several yoga sessions with Charlotte during my time in Yasawa, Fiji. I live in Beijing, China, one of the meccas for yoga. We have some stellar yoga instructors here in Beijing. However, Charlotte will always stand out as a great yoga instructor. She patiently teaches and gratuitously imparts her wisdom about yoga and on how to tap into our healthiest and most authentic selves. Speaking with her at length, I am now keen on getting my yoga certification in the next year. For beginners, the more advanced, and those in-between, she is a “highly recommend.” Thanks, Charlotte!”

“At the end of a 6-month career break I ‘washed-up’ at Octopus Resort for some serious R&R. My stay at the resort was greatly enhanced with Charlotte’s daily yoga regime. As a keen yoga practitioner – starting the day with asana practice is the way to go. I was impressed with Charlotte’s ability to adjust her teachings according to the needs of her students. With a constant flow of resort guests, Charlotte faces the challenge of having both first time practitioners and seasoned yogi’s. Yet, with her clear direction and calm demeanor she excelled. Charlotte is a professional and passionate yoga teacher. Her warm and generous personality creates calmness – that ensures a safe space to just be – ”

“My husband and I met Charlie on a recent trip to Nicaragua. We took classes with her everyday during our stay. Not only was she knowledgeable and through with us, but also kind, patient, and always a joy to be around. Charlie is an inspiring yoga teacher and will give you the attention your practice needs no matter what level you are at.”

“Charlie’s passion for and knowledge of yoga is one to be reckoned with. I had the wonderful opportunity to spend 8 days doing group and private sessions with Charlie and she no doubt helped me to deepen my yoga practice. Through her calm and confident voice, Charlie will guide you through an awe-inspiring yoga practice that will leave you feeling a peaceful mind-body connection. Whether you’re craving an ashtanga, vinyasa, or yin style yoga class, Charlie is your girl!”

Allison Wright

“I visited Charlie’s course for 2 weeks, twice a day, in Octopus Resort, Fiji. It was a pleasure to meet her and to attend the course: I loved it! The balance between training and relaxing time was good. I especially liked her voice. It was the first time for me to try yoga and I will continue – thanks to Charlie.”

“What I liked most about the massage is how comfortable Charlotte made me feel. She introduced me to the idea [of thai massage] and explained the different steps she [would] undertake to make sure I can relax entirely. She also always asks if I am okay with certain moves, which really makes me feel at ease. It was a very relaxing and pleasant first experience with thai massage and I definitely recommend it to others!”

Sarah Vansteenbrugge

“I can wholeheartedly recommend Charlotte! Charlotte helped me access repressed emotional trauma which years of talk therapy couldn’t access. This has been monumental in my healing journey. Thanks to this I feel more connected to my true self and also feel a lot more at peace. Charlotte is professional, kind and compassionate. I felt both supported and comfortable during the session. I got the impression that she truly cares about her clients. As someone who is a novice to Thai yoga massages, this was a really positive first experience and I would 100% recommend it to anyone hoping to alleviate physical or emotional discomfort.”

“I attended the candlelit yin with Charlotte this Thursday – the best yin class I have been to. Taking place in a really cosy, beautiful setting in Hope Studio – the class took me to my edge both physically and mentally leaving me feeling nourished, calm and grounded. Would definitely recommend for any Thursday night!”
